Cars Dead URGENT

Right guys need some help:

Car was running and starting fine - noticed lights were a bit dimmer than normal

looked at volt guage and it was reading about 4 volts!!!!

turned car off when got home tried to start and nothing!!

jumped it off and started ok - volt reader reading really low again about 5 volts and when you turn anything on the car struggles!!

I have no dash ie rev counter cos i'm converting it, is it possible this could be related? ie does it charge through this??

or has my alternator gone again [img]/sad.gif[/img]

Rob, you need a dash in place to prime the alternator!!!!
If you can't do this, then put a wire from the plus of the battery, to the small wire on the alternator with a bulb inbetween, put it in the car and thats now your charge warning light [img]/smile.gif[/img] hth.

shes working now but need a new battery cos mines died lol
