Electric windows dead.

Any electrical issues

Electric windows dead.

Replaced centre console switches with known good unit.

Checked the two listed fuses, F30 and ??F12?? cant remember the second one but its the one shared with the mirrors, and the mirrros work ok as well..

Next port of call??

The little illumination works when the door is opened, but no life up/down from either window doors open or shut.

Not a keen electrics fan

Have you tried injecting 12V directly into the loom as suggested in my email...? You may have to ensure a good earth on the return as well. Seems odd that both the windows are buggered...!!

Wasn't really sure which wire is which.... there are two connectors.. a green one and a black one that both go to the windows module. seemed to be a fair few wiggely's all together.. any ideas which ones it was or how you worked out which ones it was?

Think I used the Haynes' wiring diagram for colour codes... or maybe I just took the wiring colours from the switches..?

ahh.. i dont have haynes.. I will have another nose during the week with my multimeter and see what i can work out, test the switch and see where power is etc.
If you should have a flash of inspiration and remember that would be quite usefull, i dunno where to look next :- I guess strip a door panel off and test for power at the motor might be an idea..

stupink, my passenger side leccy window has stopped working... sometimes works but most of the time no luck... and if it does work... that mofo won't be going back up.

did yours both stop working at the same time?

Mick, could you email me your 12V test thing?

I've only just bought the car i'm afraid. The centre console swith thingy seems to be the main suspect from what i've researched.. however as i say i've already tried that on mine.

Have you checked both the fuses and tried the centre consol panel??
My guess is that there is a relay somewhere, the wiring to the switches don't look very beefy.. Anyone know if there is a relay for them? one of the two fuses for the windows is 30amp.. these poxy switches won't run 30amp imo.
