abs light brakes question

right have tried to find out why the abs light comes on and goes off somtimes but mainly stays on i have found the wires to the brake pad wear sensors are split or have some how got caught in the wheel MABEY would this be the cause for the abs light to come on the dash

More likely to be dirty abs sensors. Try giving them a clean and also cleaning the teeth/notches. Failing that you may need to replace a sensor.

Paper clip test will reveal some info that will point you in the right direction.
Remeber to do ABS one and not the engine code, different pins.
And suky's reply will fix most.
