Hiya mate, the old heater bulb problem.

I had to do mine not so long ago so here goes.

It is one single bulb, in the upper left corner of the heater control unit. The bulbs cost about 60p each from vauxhall, although I know some people use LEDs instead as they last longer. (the problem is the heater light stays on all the time regardless wheather you have the lights on or not.)

To get to it you need to:

1) Uncrew the top half of the steering wheel cowling. Screws are behind the steering wheel, but you should be able to get to them by turning the wheel untill they are visable. Also uncrew the two screws underneath the bottom cowling. Remove the top cowling.

2) Once removed, prise out the trim that sits below the intrument cluster. This is acheived by lighting prising either end of the trim as this is where the clips are. Be carefull in the process of not damaging the soft plastic dash. Once this is removed you will see two screws holding in the right side of the of the heater controls. Uncrew them.

3) Prise out clock or fuel computer, and uncip it the wires at the back. You should now be able to see another 2 screws holding in the left side of the heater controls, unscrew them.

4) Now comes the fun part, gently remove the heater controls, be carefull not to break any of the linkages. It should just come out far enough to see the bulb holder in the top left corner, with purple wires going to it. There should be enough room for you to remove the holder, and enough length of wire to bring free of the console and change the bulb.

As they say in any good haynes manual, refitting is the reverse of removal!

Good luck

I like it, although youve obviously added 2 more bulbs to the back of you heater controls. The standard 1 is quite poxy at the best of times
