heating up
ive been having a stuttering problem with the car whenever i was in traffic for a long time now. after fitting my air intake i thought it would solve the problem but it hasnt.
i remember someone suggesting it may be a temp sensor to someone with a similar problem. the temp shoots up to 95 when im in traffic but goes straight back down again when on the open road. ive basically found if i turn the heater on full blast while in traffic the water temp stays down and the car is fine. otherwise i get the stuttering until i get out of town and on the open road again.
is there some way i can turn the fan to turn on at all times without having to have the heater on or do i need a new thermostat as the fan is not coming on when needed or any other advice would be greatly appreciated?

just standard air box, panel air filter and a big hose running from just under the front bumper to the air box.
checked the temps again, had it wrong, its actually down at 82 or so normally and then goes up to 90 in traffic.
any suggestions why it doesnt happen while i have the fan on? possibly worth draining and replacing the coolant?

If it was mine, i would fit a new thermostate and seal and a new temp sender switch. Having the heating on full blast would be making the water circulate more and has a chance to cool. If the heater is off and the water stationary so to speak, its gonna bubble up alot quicker. Could be a prob with the water pump but i would go for the cheap fix first before splashing out. Flush thru and new coolent in this weather seems wise.
