v6..alt fan...

does anyone know where the power feed for the altinator fan comes from, i picked up a replacement unit today, that and a bit for mates audi for £10 (old one seized solid), but the cars not supplying ang power to work it..
does it run constant, if so, from what.
checked fuses and cant see anything blown.
any ways around this problem, if others have had it?

aye, cheers for that..
is the only time when it kicks in when cars not running, its just stuff like that am tryn to find out, like how you test it on the car etc..

I would say that as soon as the car gets to running temp then it kicks in, and then once engine is switched off it runs on till engine temp drops.
