strange one! my interior light wont come on for the doors opening (annoying in the dark!) it works fine if you use the switch to turn it on/off. the pressure switches at the door pillar are free enough
Thanks

Or check that switch on the door - take it off and clean it a bit around screw with sand paper cuz they know to oxidate and loose contact and see if it will work then...

took the switches off, changed the screws and cleaned all contacts. The passenger door switch only has one spade on the switch which is connected and the other spade on the end of the other wire is taped up? Drivers side has both spades connected as there is two connections on the switch. Also the dash switch (the one for side/main lights) when pulled out does not operate the interior light.

The reason there are 2 spade connections on the drivers side is because one of them works the buzzer for when you leave your lights on. I had the same problem a while ago just cleaned all the connections and it cured it.

Fuse maybe... hm... very wierd, usualy conections on that door switch oxidize and just need good cleaning, but you checked that, bulb is ok, and thing that puzzles me most is taht it wont tun on when you use lights switch (one with you turn on main front lights - right?) - now normal calibra interior light has no switches on it, it turns on with open door or with main light switch, I have put interior light from omega in mine (one with 2 fish eye extra lights) and I had to make "bridge" on it and get one extra ground from chasis for it to work ok, but if yours is standard you just have 2 wires and its pretty simple...
How are you sure bulb is ok - I mean is there any way that you turn interior light on right now?

my interior light has two switches on it! and when you use those switches the light will turn on, but it wont work with either the pull out main front light switch or with the door switches!

are we on the same track here? the interior light you're talking about is the two lights either side of the fitting they only work off the swiches on the fitting, the door light is in between these two and works either when the door is open or the main light switch is pulled out. You need to take the fitting out of the roof lining by prising it gently out with a screwdriver and then removing the cover inside there should be 2 small bulbs like sidelight bulbs and 1 festoon bulb in the middle this one may well be f***ed.

got it sorted! some arse had cut one of the wires going to the interior light! Do you ever wish you could see why or how some things happen in a cars life!?
