Fookin car!!
To remove lambda control you need to ground a pin on the ECU
coolant system is self bleeding
easiest way to check for leaks is to blank off the hose where the AFM connects and rig a compressor up to it to pressureise it...you will hear it then!, also you can spray WD40 around the pipes and wait for the engine note to change (rough guide)
the other problem will be a totally fecked loom, didnt want to depress you TBH as there is no quick fix...no new looms
check and double check for leaks

:::UPDATE:::
almost a year to solve this one but its finally done. i know a lot of you have had problems with kangarooing, idling, jumping, misfiring etc etc. mechanics told me i should take it to specialists to read the ecu or just sell the car as they had calibras with the same problem before that they couldnt find the problem (ie they cudnt be arsed)
after changing the following it still hadnt solved it:
Cleaned/replaced ICV
Fuel filter
Coolant Temp Sensor
Air Flow Meter
Throttle Position Sensor
but as of 00.40 last night, crippled with back pain from lying on wet concrete, the car is now running fine and no ECU warning light. Few weeks back i fitted a earthing kit, bought from ebay, similar to type recommended by imcsherry in a thread a while ago. this solved the idling problem however i was still getting the odd misfire etc and the warning light on the dash.
so last nite i fitted a new lambda sensor, 5 mins work really (but be careful not to fubar the threads, i was sure i had done mine as the new sensor was a b1tch to thread). changed oil and filter while i was under there and also spotted a dodgy connection to the CTS which i sorted with some small speaker spade type connectors. between the lambda(which was covered in black deposits) and the CTS, the problem is solved. if it even solves one persons problem then ill be delighted as its more of a nuisance than anything. fingers crossed it doesnt reappear after a few miles
now to sort out my sticking passenger window which i posted a year earlier than this one

just out of interest with all your problems, when accelerating did it feel as though the car was accelerating in stages i.e when in 1st gear, you pull away, the car goes and then seems to hold back, then goes again then you change gear and it happens all over again.
The reason i ask is that i drive a vaux cav gsi and im having the exact same problem i noticed with a.f.m un-plugged engine ran sweet as just a little under powered, also with lamda sensor disconnected engine ran sweet as with no e/m light on, but go for a drive e/m light comes on and again car is under powered.
