Wierd Heater Fuse problem

by r3mi » Tue Apr 04, 2006 5:49 pm

Hi all,

My heater has recently stopped working. The car is a standard ecotec without airconditioning. Where on earth is the fuse for the heater fan. I've checked in the usual place (under the dashboard in slot 4 with the rest of them) but its not there. There arent even any connections for it. I've also take the fusebox out and checked to make sure that there aren't any connections floating around that may (for some inexplicable reason) have come out. All the fuses in the fuse box in the engine bay are fine, and there aren't any missing. :freak3:

Where can I find the little bastad?

Interesting problem. My fan's just stopped working on settings 1 & 2 (but still works on 3 & 4). Also I have no sign of a fuse in slot 4...

For your problem - I think the later calibra's might have had their fan fuses in the little box in the engine bay - 30amp maxi fuse maybe???

I checked under the bonnet, but all the fuses in there seem fine. If your's doesn't work on 1&2 it sounds like a ballast resistor has burnt out. Check the haynes manual for more details...
