ok,been trying 2 track down route cause of these cracks sounds since hitting that speed bump too hard, got her up on axle jacks and had a dam gd look.
1st the noise happens wen braking and turning, espec reversing on mid to ful lock and sometimes when i hit a pothole.
all is tighh cant see anything out of ordinary, but its def coming from down passenger footwell area, well by the plastic triming and sounds slightly higher up,which could be track rod end,but seems fine, and doesnt make a cracking sound if gone, more like a clink wen turning so thats out, wishbone looks fine, drop link is ok,cv is either clonk or click and thats fine anyway.

SO IM AT A FOOKING LOSS:lolsign:

Just an idea, have you tried loosening off the wishbones, i say this cos mine was making a awful noise when driving and turning and high speed and low speed. It turned out that the wishbones had moved somehow which was making the noise. I took it to a garage for them to have a look at and said they could not find anything, so he thought he would undo the bolts/nuts on the wishbone while it was up in the air and seated them properly and then retightened everything back up, this solved the problem.

I would have thought they would have to be really tight. Forgot to say, when the garage loosened the wishbone i think he dropped the car off the ramp etc and then tightened the bolts back up, think this to make sure the wishbone was in the right place.

member the last time i had mine in for tracking they said i had a damaged strut which (after also changing my tie rod ends, solving it till the next pothole) causes a knocking on slow speeds and turning. ive just learned to live with it for the time being.

Sounds silly, but you haven't broken a spring have you?

I had this, and the spring was broken where you couldn't see it easily. Plus you tend to look for more complicated things and ignore the obvious. It also didn't seem to affect anything either, other than a knocking in certain situations.

Took me a little while to figure that one out.

well ive been using her 2nite as had 2 pick up that green dynatwist and hasnt made a sound, and have been braking hard to test, so looks like the shock or hitting the speed bump sent a shockwave trough wishbone and slightly undone the nut,so tightening has done job so far, although may have buckled alloys,no more shake than normal, but was a hell of a bump, not normaly ones u see in roads but a high thin one found on a layby
