My callys just to stiff

Hi guys , my cally is lowered 60mm on standard shocks, prob is i love the look of the car but its just far to stiff. Looking at poss suspension change ( on a budget tho! ) has anyone tried any kits with that amount of lowering? I know if i went for a 30mm kit it would be better but dam its looks good as it is!!!

You mean stiff or harsh?

Stiffness is very little to do with the shocks. Stiffness is determined by the springs. If it's too stiff then you'll need softer (and therefore higher) springs. If it's harsh over bumps and doesn't ride very well then you need new shocks.

If the standard ones are worn or bust, no.

If the aftermarket ones are progressive or adjustable, no.

If the aftermarket ones are badly matched to the springs, yes.

The Calibra GMAX springs and shocks are quite good IMO. On my 8v it made it really chuckable

Well get an adjustable one then! If you want good handling then that means spending money!

You can get softer springs that are the same ride height but the softer they are the more your gonna bottom out. On my escort I had a gmax kit and then split fire things rammed in the springs to stop the tyres rubbing in the arches. It would rattle your fillings out!!
