Mystery lead/sensor
Mystery lead/sensor
Today I found a lead in the engine bay with frayed wires that probably needs replacing, but I don't know what it is.
It was hanging under the engine bay behind the passenger side headlight/battery. It has one of those connectors that you squeeze 2 sides to get off followed by a black lead and then what must be a sensor which is a clear bullet shaped piece of plastic with a white piece of plastic visible in the middle of it. It has a green and a brown wire going into it which you can also see through the transparent plastic 'bullet'. The wiring led back to the cab.
Hopefully someone knows what this is before I have to get the digital camera out.
Cheers,
Dan

I originally thought it was the temp sensor as I've had an F on the trip computer since I've had the car and the wires on this lead are chopped to crap from being dragged along the road, but then thought the temp sensor would surely not be so close to the engine. So I suppose this is supposed to sit in the bumper somewhere?
Here's a pic just to make sure. Not great quality as my camera won't focus.
