HELP grinding noise from front susp?

by Calibravalver » Tue Apr 11, 2006 5:41 pm

Firstly hi all, my car is making a grinding type noise when cornering under medium - light acceleration. It sounds very similar to if a tyre was rubbing on a lowered car, only lots louder. It only does it now and again, about 4 times today, it's quite loud and disturbing, and comes from both sides (not at same time) Please advise......

Have you checked your anti roll linkage is not broken/fractured and rubbing on the drive shaft, dont know exactly but it sounds a little like a similar noise as I have and this is the cause.

Will go look now. When i go a bit faster on a curve like leaving a roundabout it wont do it, it does it when cornering under lowish speeds, sounds just like a rubbing tyre but much louder. Thanks for the info

No, there doesn't seem to be anything untoward with the anti roll bar, or any fouling. The car is lowered mildly on what looks like springs only, wouldn't be more than 35mm tho by the looks.
