Vauxhall Co*k Up

Who'd believe it? Vauxhall have admitted to me that they fitted the wrong bushings to my car. They fitted standard gm bushings which are too soft whereas the proper ones as fitted by Irmscher are bigger and harder. Now the fun and games can really begin as I live in Ireland and the Garage that carried out the £1200 service is in Birmingham. I wonder how they intend to rectify their mess up? they certainly wont want to hear that if i travel over they'll have to pay not only my return journey costs but also my €1,000 loss of wages per day.
i've suggested they supply me with the proper bushings for the rear plus by way of compensation, front top mounts and perhaps a nice set of Irmscher pedals also. What do you guys think?

Nice to see someone finally get something back from Vauxhall, and what better car for it to happen for

Did it feel that different with the wrong bushes fitted Coolchillie?
I didn't know the LE has different bushes to normal, makes sense tho as the shocks and springs were different, wonder if they SE5 got different ones as well. (I'have a few replaced over the years just with bog standard ones..)

The car feels terrible to drive at the mo. its not too bad on good straight roads but if there are bumps and hollows it bounces around like crazy. It should stick to the road like s***e to a blanket.lol. There were different set ups on different cars, as mine seems to have standard shocks but pine cone shaped springs (according to Irmscher these are correct for my car) The proper bushings are stronger and stiffer and stop that horrid bouncing and sticks the car to the road especially when cornering at high speed. You dont get the same horrid roll and sway.I'm just trying to bring the car back to day one spec and every turn i make seems to bring new problems. The real trouble is that no one here (in Ireland) has a bloody clue. I refuse to bring my car to any opel dealer as they never really worked on Calibras. They weren't too popular here as road tax is about €600 a year (£400). We pay per cc.
As for my job..... yes you read it right €1000 per day (£650 approx) and i'm not ashamed to say so either. Long enough i spent on the dole raising my son. (now 18)
I import materials for driveways from Berkshire and sell them to contractors here. I'm only doing this 3 years and its the best, most rewarding job i've ever had. Put it this way, i love mondays.

Right, if they dont comply threaten to sue. Its due to their negligence, so just get this all in writing from the p****s. And if they dont play nice, threaten to take legal action.

You can count on it. Irmscher UK are in my corner on this one. They even told me to tell Vauxhall to phone them and they'd give them the correct parts for my car.
P.S. I named my car Abi after the very nice lady from Norwich who sold it to me. She'll be even more delighted to hear that if I keep the car standard and in good nick for a few more years that it will increase in value. (I didnt believe it either until i spoke to Irmscher who want me to call to see them when i finish it).. Who cares about the money? I DO
