Sounds like it's the front wheels if it's causing the car to veer left, and there is wobble through the wheel. I would give them a good yank to check for play, could be that the bearings are worn.

I may be wrong when i say this but i found that when i needed my wishbones replacing my cally felt very similar, it may have been my imagination though!

I think I will have to take it to a couple of garages and see what they think, could just be me but just now over the work speed bumps (I go very slowly over them) the rear right made a loud clonk kind of noise!!!

Cant see anything wrong! Will have to get things looked at tomorrow.

Heard that it could be my track rod ends?

Mines been doin the same from the front right hand side, only since i did the 1/4 though on sunday, its abit worrying, mine also makes a clunk when i brake from the front.

where theres a coincidemnce ,i also have a clunk and it sounds like its coming from the drivers side wheel

So we all have clunks sqeaks etc, but any idea what is causing them (didnt get chance to take it to the garage on weekend!!

Also below 10 mph the passenger side (not sure if front or back) gives a high pitched noise! Any ideas?

high pitched noise on the back will probably be your handbrake shoes. prob come unseated in the drum. had same problem last week. had to go at it as some of the guys on here have had the handbrake lock up while driving along.

clunk when braking might be the pads knocking in the caliper. maybe the retaining pins on back or spring on the front has come away.

the knocking on the front when turning could be:

CV joint
bent wishbone or damaged bearing on wishbone
damaged arb link (doubtful)
damaged tie rod end (i think, god my mind is going, its the one on the end of the steering rack anyway-u can see it easily enough without doing anything, the balljoint just above the wheel)
could even be a cracked strut (as in my case)

Handbrake shoes could be a prob, good shout. When I wash, or it rains and my car is sat stationary and the rain drys, my handbrake sticks really badly. I have to give it lots of revs in reverse and 1st to break the bloody things off!!! Doesnt sound good when they finally let go!! Big clunk!!

Will get them looked at.

If its steering to one side and your getting grinding noise you might want to check that your pistons are sliding properly in the brake calipers. VX's used to have a lot of problems with this. Whilst your there check that your pads have plenty of wear left and that they are evenly worn on both sides of the car. Jack the front of the car up and spin the wheel round by hand see if you can hear where the sound is coming from.

i have the exact same prob, but only when i went from my steelies to 17's.

now the car wants to go all over the place on bad road surfaces and i get a squeal from a wheel (haven't located yet) when pulling away at slow speeds sometimes.

Onyl after the wheels went on tho but I have had tracking checked and all ok.

I thought it was just the lower profile tires meaning the road surface not absorbed as much and it transfering into the wheels etc.

Clunking when breaking might be worn bush in front wishbone. They only cost about £35 for the pair and you'd be amazed at the difference it makes to the feel of the car when you fit new ones.

Grinding noise is more then likely brake related, although I have had a broken drive shaft which made a similar noise!

Veering or pulling to one side could be tyre related. Are they the same tyres on both sides? I have this exact problem when I put my spare wheels on. Feels like the tracking is out and I have to have the steering wheel turned about 20 degrees just to go in a straight line. Then I go back to my 19"s and everything is fine!

if the overall width or height of the wheel is different then the tracking is gonna be out
