did you keep the equalising cylinder when you changed your hoses? pic on this thread, but i found out in the meantime that this is what it was?

if you're talking about the valves that limit the break pressure to the rear wheels, they have to stay, otherwise you will experience handbrake stopping power from the pedal

how do i disconnect the cylinder from the hoses if you can remember. (thanks for replying, was getting worried no-one had a clue what i was on about.) do i just try to loosen that 16 or 17mm bolt?

That's the expensive little b*ggers that I had to get one replaced for the MOT.
somethinglike £50 a pair and only available in pairs or something daft like that.

ya found that out this morning. two types. one are 75 euro and the other type are 225 euro. so if they cant be sorted, braided hoses are coming back off.

well they better feel different now. just replaced the hoses, fluid, pads, discs and handbrake shoes. [img]/wink.gif[/img] prob break my neck the first time i hit the pedal (esp compared to what i had before) (was gona to change everything except the hoses to compare the difference but got lazy and didnt wana have to jack everything up again)

oh and as i was saying to slugger, i got my goodridge ones from <a href="http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalo...products_id=395" target="_blank">http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalo...products_id=395</a> for £30.50 which seems a bargain

received them in no time and they definitely fit a 93 16v (as i know there have been a few threads saying people had issues with certain models)

I may be able to tell you lot if it fits a 94 16v redtop, depends if I go for the brake upgrade I'm currently looking at...golf vr6 280mm discs and calipers with green stuff pads...sounds good to me. What ya's think?

if they fit my redtop they will fit yours. mine is a late 93. i think all 16v callys have the same brake setup but it should def fit yours anyway
