Dash Board light

Any electrical issues

by KevV6 » Tue May 18, 2004 11:17 am

Hi,
Can anyone tell me what the light to the left hand side of the "Bulb out" indicator on the dashboard means ? Its like a larger Icon without the brackets. Comes on and off whilst driving at night with my lights on. Mislaid my handbook so I'm not sure...

Cheers.

there are 2 similar lights,

one comes on with ignition and stays on until you touch the brake... (this is a brake waring/test light its normal to be on until you first tap the brake.)

the other is a bulb, fault light, if its on then one of your bulbs doesnt work, probably not a brake light, reverse or indicator if its only at night that you notice it.

check your rear side-light, that went on me, its a bit hard to see in the daylight.

ps KevV6,

if you live near basingstoke, you should come to our Hook Meet... (1st sunday of each month, just outside basingstoke.) see the local minimeets section of the forum for details. its good fun, normally about 10-15 Calibras... (oh, but there isnt one in June.)

Jay, does the forum support HTML imagemaps?
Just I was toying with the idea of doing a pic of the dash with popup comments for each light, seeing as it's a fairly regular question..

If not I guess I can stick it up on my own webspace, just might be nice to have it in the FAQ section..

UPDATE:-

Had a quick go at it, need to do all the other warning lights tho, and would look much better with a pic of a real dash...
Put the cursor over a 'light' and it pops up (or should do) the description from the manual.
Obvisouly this could be expanded for more info..

Thanks very much, that link you have posted was very useful to me. Needed to know what a orange light was on my dash, found out thanks to you that my front brake discs have worn down, might think about replacing them. Cheers

Soorry mate posted this comment under the wrong guy
