replacing brakes all round
hi all, how easy would it be to replace the discs and pads all round and roughly how long would it take, done pads b4 but not a cally, so need some sort of idea wats involved, and would it be a good idea to stick with stock discs/pads or upgrade to better, were is best place to get the stuff from too?
or can i just go to crapfit/national places like that and get them to do it?
TIA
Rob.

With a trusty Haynes manual you should be able to do it in a day, it'll involve lots of wd40 on the rusty bits, but once the wheels are of it's really only a couple of bolts and clips. It's definatley worth attacking it yourself as a garage will charge you 2/3 hours labour and rip you off on the parts. I have found the standard vx discs and pads to be fine for road use, but if you want more you could use some greenstuff pads, they take a while to warm up but when they do they are improvement over standard.

just found out that the brakes are from courtenaysports and they are 288mm which are for the V6 Vectra, so looks like i might be ringing round a few scrappies to see if they got any in stock or i could go back to the 256mm and calipers for mine or stick with wati got.
