HT Leads

Any electrical issues

HT Leads

by RhinoV6 » Wed Aug 23, 2006 12:58 am

Recently replaced battery ...old one was the wrong rating and died VERY slowly causing much confusion and dark thoughts of how an ....alfa would look on my drive . During the long confusion period I nearly got some new ht leads but had to backout as am currently running in a new wife and the dreaded ticket was approching.(which it duly failed)

<div align="left">Car is now better than before!!! but would changing the 13yr old HT Leads still be worth a punt, if so any advice would be most helpful.

It wouldn't hurt to change the leads, give the engine a new spark of life

And welcome to the club.

Good idea with the resistance check thing will do, but the back three are going to be a bugger to check. I could get some £20 jobs on ebay and just stick'em in but £20 seems too cheap, has anyone tried a set?

Not tried the cheap ones and welcome to the site good to see another V6 nearby. I've got to change mine at some point as the car has a slight stutter underload, unless it's my coil pack breaking down.

The cheap ones have far higher resistance than an old vaux (BERU) lead

to check ignition strength order a spark tester (£5?) from highpower 01302 834343

if there is any interest i can do a group buy on these...no mechanic should be without one!
