Not much info there to go on mate. Wait for it to do it again, and commit the warning light to memory :icon_mrgr

Paz, the calibras have very week grounds meaning that the negatives also called gnd's might get corroded and cause severla electrical problems like those
I Would sugest attaching a cable from the block of the engine to the chassis, and see if it works

I would be very worried if I was you tbh. It says on your name thingey you have an 8v, there for neither of thouse two lights should ever come on as 8v's did not have check control. There is not wires going to the bulb... thinking about it, there is no bulb in the dash cluster.

Are you sure it was not the warning brake light, like when you have the handbrake on. From my past with Vauxhall's that is normaly the early start of electrical problems. Are you just around the 80,000mile mark by any chance?

EDIT; keep an eye on the air bag light...

Bear in mind he has an 8v out of a cavalier! Its not a stock calibra 8v, I think Paz has told me before but i was probably drunk and cant remember the differences.

Still wont have check control, that was wired to the car, not the engine.

EDIT: If it is not the standerd Calibra 8v lump, it wont be the C20NE then will it???

Quote: the only differences where the drive belt on the old engine had round teeth as the cogs did, and one wide fan belt, the new engine had sq teeth and cogs and two fan belts : End Quote.

Apparently thats the only difference.

I meen keep an eye out for the air bag light, if it comes on then start to rearly worrie. I had a simmaler problem on my last 2 Calibra's, and my 2.0 8v cav, all started out with the bulb flickering like that, then it stayedon rearly bright, followed by outher light including air bag lights... always happend around 80,000miles, is an electrical problem, and not a cheep one from memory.

But, not sure if they are the same, the cav was though...

the car has done over 108,000 but new engine has about 123,000 thats all figures add up as the new engine had around 117,00 when it came out of cav
