engine managment light
its in the exhaust manifold somewere, no idea where on an 8v, on the 16v its just at the back of the engine in the exhaust manifold, and on the turbo its by the dipstick in the exhaust, it screws in and a wire goes to a plug that is just behind the brake master cylinder, it senses the fuel in the exhaust and alters the fuel to keep the mixture right , from a motorfactors they cost about 15 pound, it mightent be whats up but ive had it flash up the light even to the point that it always flicked on at the same place on a road every time, never were any codes stored

you know what it could be? a loose conection on the temperature sensor, i had the same problem when i rev up the car not exclusivly on 3000 the light would flick because the engine was "vibrating" causing a bad connection, and sometimes it would work for hours and days without any light.
It would also cause the missfires when the car is hot as if the car is not okay at all!
