wheel bearings??

i've been getting a wirring noise just lately, and i had a mate over to help me change the camshaft sensor, he said straight away it sounded like the bearing. had the wheels off and theres loads of play in both front wheels.

is this a hard job to diy and do i need any special tools?. also is there anything else i may as well do while im at it.

not really a diy job, bearings are an inteference fit and pressed into the hub carrier. could save yourself some money by removing the strut and just getting the garage to press out the old bearing, did one myself on a gsi cav, took ages to get out.

Check the hub nuts are tight. the specified torque is F-tight!

Probably all it is then, to do it up to the right torque (think its angle actually) you need a breaker bar pretty much. if you did it with a normal ratchet then it wont be tight enough.

Strength of the ratchet not the issue strength of the user is the problem
