Noise When Slowing Down

by antobroko » Sat Dec 02, 2006 6:53 pm

When im applying the brakes (more often at slow speeds but has) a thudding noise happens. It also when i put pressure the pedal will feel like its stiff then go lax then normal. My ABS light comes on when the roads are damp or wet too. Any ideas?

take a look at your brake components and make sure their in good nik and theres nothing loose. dont foget to check that the caliper is tightly bolted, as the nuts can come loose.

I would suggest you look at the abs rings on the cv joints as they have a habit of breaking so one tooth has a bigger gap. when the wheel rotates
this fraction of a diffrence makes the abs kick in when not really needed and will take u longer to stop!
