Calibra Factory alarm etc and Sigma M30

by Defiance » Thu Jan 04, 2007 11:43 pm

Hiya's,
1st off, What do i say to insurer when i swap policies over from one of my gte's to this calibra as-in alarm/immob fitted ???

And 2nd, Armed with wiring diagram and relevent info would a Sigma M30 be ok to use on my new calibra ??

hmm 3rdly if sigma is ok to use on the calibra what do i do with factory fitted setup ??

Hope this makes sense

Cheers

The standard alarm is not of any use to insurers as its not cat1/2. If yo fit the sigma one (providing it is a cat 1/2) you will need to get it checked by a qualified installer and certified that it is upto standard. Personally look at getting an imobiliser installed professionally to cover you on the insurance and add whatever you want n the way of alarms for your own piece of mind.

Hiya,
Ahh i see the damn bean counters never allowed at least cat2 systems to be fitted from factory then lol

Well i like sigma as i've had them on gte's and stopped at least one steal attempt and i'm used to their codes/programmes etc for noises/options etc

Any ideas on Toad setups ??

I think sigma's maybe getting old in the teeth (maybe) ??

Cheers for reply

Hiya Mr Toad,
Yeah i thought maybe that the "S" was a later version in the sigma range

I have looked (not too indepth yet) at the
Toad Ai606
Viper 480XV
And the Sigma later s model to what i assume is my m30

The viper i read is from the mother company of clifford ? and sigma is something to do with toad ?

Seeing as your a specialist, What do you think to the viper systems ?? as i like their funky optional extras/add-ons

Or if you think the ai606 is more suited

(i want proximity/total closure and any other funky things i can either included in kit or as later upgrades/add-ons )

Want system to be secure (well as secure as they can, I know if someone in the know wants to they can steal anything but i want to make it hard for the likes of them )
That either comes or can be upgraded to cool add-ons like ones up above

Cheers

HI Mate

You will find they can all do the same thing i fit Toad as they come with lifetime warranty and they can have the following plugged in:-

Proximity sensor
Glass break detector
Shock sensor
Dual zone shock sensor
Tilt sensor

They also come with total closure as standard
antihijack
You name it Toad can do it

Hiya's,
Mr Toad, I have a chance of a Toad Ai606 installed near me at a great price (favour pulled in )

Now with my old sigma's i had keypads usually in glove box anyways, Do the standard ai606's come with a pad or are they extras ??

Been searching now but can't seem to find any info on the keypads

Toads use a 4 digit pin code not a keypad
But for a bit extra you can add a overide touch key !!!
