differential... whats all that about?

Ello peops,

Looking for assistance on my lastest issue. Been away from here for a while as I don't have internet at home.

Got a dodgy fuel filter at the mo and had my car up on stilts this morning to look at the problem. All as I thought apart form one thing; I gave the back wheels a quick spin by hand (no idea why, probably just for fun) and the right one doesn't seem to spin... at all!!

I thought the differential system meant when you spin the left clockwise the opposite spins anti-clockwise? I'm certianly no expert on the subject so can anyone clarify?

Thanks
