ciggy lighter

Hi all, can anyone tell me why my ciggy light will not hold the lighter itself in the socket, it gets hot but just won't hold it, any ideas.

yup the two metal plates inside have been pushed out too far , no doubt some other sockets been used...mobile phone or something ???

not by me m8, want to use it fora satnav, dont smoke so dont need it for anything else apart from phone charger maybe, how easy to push/pull plates back to original postion? and would i need special tools for it or just small screw driver.

just make sure the ignition is off!!! and use a flat blade screwdriver to bend the two lugs out a tad (should see them about half way down )
