Airbag warning light

by Sam » Wed Jun 06, 2007 12:28 pm

Ever since I bought the car this light has always remained on when I drive the car. The passenger airbag cover on the dash looks a bit warped, as in it looks like someone tried to prise it off or something, so I'm guessing the previous owner was messing about with it for some reason.

Does the car have to go to Vauxhall to investigate, or can any garage do it? I know I can remove the bulb behind the clocks, but I'd rather have working airbags in my car...

if any of the airbag system has been unplugged with the battery still connected it will disable the system, the only way to get it working again is go to main dealer and have it reset.

You can only reset it though if everything a present and working correctly.

So only Vauxhall can sort this out for me?

Randomly I found that mine got reset without going to the dealership using TFS's ECU reboot system... i.e. take -ve battery connector off, hold brake pedal down then switch ignition on and off again.. Then leave for an hour.. I've no idea if it actually reset it but the lights gone out....

I had the light reset the other week, apparently the fault code was "low voltage" or something like that. It's been off ever since. :)
