284mm -> 308mm brake upgrade

Well I bounced off this one a couple of years ago, and it's still bugging me: I would like to upgrade to Vectra 308mm discs but mine is an early V6 ('94) with the 284mm discs (these fit on a larger diameter hub that the later discs won't fit on). Rather than grind down the hubs I've heard that it's possible to fit vectra hubs (and bearings?). Can anyone confirm this please?
Would all models of Vectra have the same hubs I wonder?

i started to grind down my 284mm hubs ( got one side right )but gave up,, ended buying both full legs off a late turbo ,got brand new 308mm calipiers from vauxhall,, got a massive discount!! a mate lent me some brand new 308mm discs and i put it all together and its a pefect fit, gona overall the bearing but i think they are larger than the early ones with the 284mm discs.
as far as i am aware the late turbos and V6s have the size brakes,, my turbo is a M reg which as the 284s and my V6 is a R reg and as the 288s.
the 308mm are a very very close fit on standard turbo 16" rims with new pads, i took fotos and tried posting them on here but couldnt do it,, i`d say there is 0.5mm clearance.
