weird knocking noise

Any issues relating to suspension, steering and brakes.

right me and tina took the car to swindon tonight and it seems that the knock is one knock , you can feel it under the passenger floor and its pretty and if you take of in 1st gear and it knocks but we were driving on the a419 earlier at 60-70 and the car felt like it always has until you slow right down to stop and then pull away again it makes the knock.

someone must have had this before surely....

also i did rock the car forward and backward while i was trying to investigate the noise.

so theres no real way of checking it , tbh i still cant dont think it can be the engine mountings as before i wd40d the rear wishbone bolt and the bottom of the arb link it never made the knock before then and the car was perfect and surely just by rocking the car backward andforward shouldnt of done it.

guys ,

i took the car to onestop garage this morning , they took it for a drive and said there is a fierce knock after 1st gear but all through the other gears its fine just like normal.they have had it put on the ramp and have gave it a through check and nothing seems to be undone ,loose etc.

i still have a suspicion that its still my antiroll drop link on the passeneger side as it doesnt sit the same.

please help .....

I get a knocking sound from my front passenger side under braking and when going over potholes.garage said there is excessive play in a suspension arm bearing/pin.He didn't sound too convincing to me so I've just bought a new LSA,gona put it on tomorrow and see what happens.

I sometimes get a knock when changing from 1st to 2nd but mine makes alsorts of noises
from suspension anyway, i do need to tighten the rear bolt on drivers side wishbone.

i had troble with mine when i changed it, the thread went on the captive nut so i had to cut
a hole in the floor under the pedals and put a longer bolt and nut on it. i could only get a normal 8.8
grade nut and not the 10.9 as per the proper bolt for this so i didn't overtighten incase the stress
snapped it.

Also i think my suspension set up has something to do with it, i have 17in 225/45 wheels
and lowered 40mm on gmax shocks which i don't think have been screwed into the cartridge
holder corectly. My mechanic has also said this set up being harsh will be noisy over bumps
and things. so i'm still working my one out as well

have you checked if there is excessive play in the drop-link. i've just changed mine today as i was getting a knocking from the front drivers side, thing was looking at it looked ok, wasnt until i took it off that i could see it was rattling about.
