just replaced my wishbone and excessive play is an understatement.took the old one off and the bearing where you feed the bolt up through (not the ball joint behind the brake disc, the one where it bolts to chassis.)Well that was totally f****d.the rubber surrounding had torn all the way round.

i'm suspecting a wheel bearing you know?

wheel bearings dont tend to knock, they grind and mainly only when they are really on their way out... Have you considered the top suspension bearing or the rubbers, this may cause a knocking...

Ive got some knocks but Ive near on replaced everthing suspension wise, just gotta do the NSF lower suspension arm and im complete, but noises are still there...

hi mate
well, i have figured out by myself that indeed is a wheel bearing issue:

i hit a curb a year ago and i must have broken the bearing to a point where it doesnt grind, but it must have a small fracture

GUYS I FOUND THE PROBLEM, and probably baz16v problem's as well

Changed the Bearing today, and... well, the knock was still there, so in a moment of rage, swearing like hell i put the car on a ramp and with the help of 3 young mechanics i finaly found the problem
in the anti roll bar there are two links that connect to the wishbones, then somewhere nearer to the middle there's two bushes that are hold by 1 13mm screw, and finaly the weigh in the middle...
The Noise is comming from the bushes that is in between the links and the weight, and it kinda makes sence, imagine that baz has soaked the droplinks with WD40, the WD40 could easly travel trough the bar into the bush causing it to corrode badly and knocking.

WD40 is a penetrating oil, cleaner, lubricant and an anti corrosive solution, no way is it going to cause metal to corrode................. so next wild guess ?
