it took me over 20 minutes to disarm my immobiliser on my turbo, its a 1995 M reg,,, its a key fob one with a little red LED light on the cowell,,, i`ve changed the fob battery,, thinking it might be the receiver,,, does anyone know where it is on this model?????.
cheers

the alarm will be tucked away up above the glove box m8
you need to take the glove box out then you will see it hidden hp to the left hand side!

i could be wrong!

also look in your hand book it tells you about the alarm itself
hope this helps m8

Mine was also behind the glove box, is it an after market alarm or a vauxhall one?

as far as i know it is a vauxhall standard immobiliser,, the later ones have chip in the key, the indicator for it is a very small red bulb on the steering cowell.
i fitted the vauxhall alarm,, the one that closes the windows n lock n unlocks the doors and also arms the alarm but this seems to be on a separate system,,, thats working perfectly.

Sounds like an aftermarket immobiliser system.

the reason i`m assuming it is standard is because this is my 2nd calibra with the same immobiliser type plus a friend of mine had a V6 with the same aswell,,, but then they could just be popular after market ones,, but i`m sure someone at vauxhall said it was standard.
i have had a look at the haynes manual and there is a relay behind the glovebox,, as anyone else had the same probs i`m having??
gave up last week and walked to work, this morning it took 20 minutes but the rest of the day no probs at all

It may be a Vauxhall alarm but it's not standard for the Calibra as the alarm light is in the passenger side "B" pillar.

Ive had 4 different V6's from 1993 -1997 none of them had that light, you might need a alarm fitter to have a look.

It sounds like a std fittment vx imobiliser on the m reg , has a key tag with push button and red led, says opel on the back of the key tag , has a red led on the top of the steering wheel cowl
mine was put in by vx when they made it not afterwards (looking at the paperwork)
mine went on fire on one, and on others it has failed with relays falling off the board

control box is a metal riveted box up behind the glovebox and airbag passenger side, inside the metal box thats attached to the car, the box needs unriveting to undo it, then inside is a black plastic case it can now be unplugged
it then needs unscrewing, then the board can be looked at, the relays fall off, 2 relays, one for the fuel pump relay and one for the ecu, solder them back on

remember to re rivett the box back to the car as it slows thieves down in the 20 second theft of a car fitted with it

you can bypass it very easily if you dont use it and have another, hence why you need to securely attach it back on the car where its not easy to get at
