flickering oil light

can anyone help... got this new annoyn fault with the car... an intermitent flicering oil light comming on, car has got pressure (got center gauges) and have tried replacement sender unit, with a new connector on it.

ligh comes on alot when i accelerate, goes of when let off gas...

am thinking damaged wire somewhere, but wheres the best place to join new section in??
as the loom works along the outer bulkhead(initialy), or run one new wire from oil sender right up to speedo?

or anyone had this prob b4, and knows whats up?

yeh, pressure gauge seems to be working ok, rev it, it goes up, goes down on idle etc...

silly question, but how can check it if disconecteed? (if it lights up, its earthing somewhere it shouldnt?)

Check the wire coming off the sender it sounds like the wire is bare somewhere and when you accelerate its earthing out on summit

yeh, thats what am thinking steva.... was thinking of replacing aprox 1 meter of the wire, joining it into the std loom on bulkhead, (cutting old wire at same time (to stop earthing out)

as for the low oil level bit... theres a seperate light for that on the check controle pannel, to warn you of low oil level.... unless its an 8v, they dont have them as far as i know
