Battery / Alternator /Battery warning light

HI
Having trouble with an SE8 16v. Battery warning light comes on when you turn the car off & stays on when you remove the key, .......draing the battery :( Start the car and it goes out ..... as it should ????
Any ideas on where to start??

Hello and welcome.

Get the alternator checked, had this happen ov a car in the past and it needed a new one.

Could be the alternator or something with the charging circuit... Might also be worht getting the battery checked somewhere like ATS to make sure its still up to the job, sometimes the battery cells break down and stop it from charging up properly...

i had this before xmas and mine turned out to be the alternator...

Had the alternator checked today......turned out to be the faulty rectifier in the alternator. hopfully this will fix the problem.

Alternator back in .................problem sloved :D . Thanks for the advice. Next job sump gaskets at the w/end :? cant wait!
