Should the ring nut that secures the front shock cartridge into the the strut tube be showing any of its thread. Mine is showing about 3/4 cm of thread. Is this correct or do i need to get the stilsons on it? Its a GMAX shock, same issue on both sides.

I had Gmax shocks and the ring nut came loose de-threaded itself and ended up with the shock getting a crackin it due to the movement it caused.
