Fault Codes

by eco16v » Wed Oct 08, 2008 6:56 pm

Just did the paperclip test on my cally and it has brought up 2 fault codes,
38 - oxygen sensor circuit, voltage high and 92 - camshaft sensor, incorrect signal. Tried clearing the codes but they just re log when the eml comes on. I take it the next step is to replace both the sensors?

did you do the paper clip test with the engine running or not? as unless the cam sensor has gone it will throw that fault code if the engine isn't running, certainly sounds like you need a new lambda sensor though

I wouldn't use a 2nd hand crank sensor, as there is no way of telling if its knackered until you fit it.

did it with engine off, tried it when engine was running but doesnt show anything up, but after running for a few secs EML comes on and doesnt go out til u switch engine off and then on again.

with the link in place the eml light should flash the codes when the engine is running even if there isn't any fault codes it will flash the self check codes

mine isnt flashing at all when the engine is running. Drove car this morning and EML didnt come on, but when started last nite EML came on after automatic choke cut out, i revved the car a few times and EML went out again!
