Ignition Switch

[align=left]Hi,

I have a problem with the Ignition Switch on my Calibra Turbo. This is the second one now that has burnt out. It has been one year since I replaced the Ignition Switch and it burnt out this morning on the way to work. I had a nice gob full of chemical smoke, UUmmm nice, NOT!

The one that burnt out this morning was from Outovaux, I also had to buy a new one today, this is also from Outovaux. I opened it up to see what the quality was like and I did not think the qaulity was very good to be honest. I don`t know weather they are a genuine vauxhall part or not?

I`v been driving about with the new one on but with the cover off to see if any of the wires where getting hot. none of the wires going to the Ignition switch have got hot at all? My only conclusion is that these switches are of poor quality and fail over a period of time.

Has anyone on here had any problems with the Ignition Switch?

Here are some photos of the switch that burnt out this morning....

Is the red font a result of your username?

If you want Genuine VX parts, you need to specify that.

I did specify that, but I don`t think they are. If they were genuine they should of been recalled by vauxhall as its a potential fire hazard.
