Ok I popped into Eden Vauxhall (newbury) today gave them the code and he came back with a ridiculous price of £63 + vat , then rang up Skurrays(swindon) they said it would cost me £49 +vat (non-trade price) and I also asked them how much would it cost trade price with my cc.net membership and they said £40 and that the part number I supplied which is the Siemens part number (as this is the modified loom new version with the rounded plug.

Then I rang Autovaux and they said they have the old can sensor with the square end and that would cost £11.44 but if it was for the modified one it would cost me £38 for the complete kit including loom & sensor

But would we just be able to replace the new sensor straight to the modified loom we have ?

and where does the loom connect , is there a wiring plug (as i couldnt see)

OK so this is still not sorted, you need to get this to someone that knows what they are doing. Or it's going to end up the sameway as the Vectra and thats parked at the side of the road.

You will just have to bite the bullit on this one and pay for it to be sorted before you do some real damage to the car.
Mark...........It's Red........It's a V6............It's an SE9!..............and She's bad.

I am just amazed it take two pages to find out what cam sensor is needed!!!! take VIN and engine number to dealer get right part, if they do supply wrong part its thier fault, so they will change it for correct one

Fit sensor to the car go have cup of tea, job done

lol @mark (wrong thread buddy)

yeah i defiantely will be going down the autovaux route but all we wanted to know can we just buy the kit and connect the cam sensor upto the existing modified loom or will we have to fit the new one (which shouldnt be any different as far as i can see ) this wont be done for a few weeks at the moment .
