Engine Light keeps coming on :(
Just wondering if any of u have had this problem.....
My little orange light keeps coming on.... its doesnt stay on all the time though, quite sporradic.
The more I watch it it seems to come on when the temperature gauge reaches the halfway point..... sometimes it stays on sometimes it goes off......
If it stays on then I park up when I get back in its usually off again.....
Doesnt really seem to be affecting the driving of the car except once or twice its 'jumped' a little if its come on at high speeds.
No problems with strange tick-over/revs or lack of power.
One day last week the car just cut out, it started straight away again and has been fine since.......
Had a similar problem on my corsa, it was the crank sensor.....
Gonna take it to auto electrics place at the weekend and get plugged in just wondering if u had any ideas??

Best thing to do jo is do the paperclip test with a paperclip and it will save you £30 for a test, you will need to look under the bonnet near the bulkhead on the passenger side where the horn sits there is a diagnostic plug , bridge a paperclip between the a & b pins and turn the engine over and count how many times the ecu light flashes:

i know because i had this last week when we fixed my knock sensor , heres a video i did just to give you a idea:
its sounds like the problem my other half has been having on her car by the sounds of it.

I had a simular sort of problem turned out there was no power to my injectors due to a faulty connector on the rail that clips into each injector along the top. Tech1 efos an those programs are ok if u have the cash to throw around..... I didn't at the time! no wait, I still don't now!
Sorry baz it just made me laugh "the paperclip test with a paperclip"
