Fans wont go off!!!! Grrrr!!! x25xe
Hey guys well after going out last night when i got home i noticed that the fan (looking front on) on the left was still on with the alternator fan after about an hour and with it being dark i couldnt really do much!!!!
Now the question is, it is obviously a sudden failure or fault that has caused this but is this a common thing on the x/c 25xe's and if so what should i be looking at if its something i can replace easily i wanted to get it tommorrow so i can have her for the weekend!!!???? Any help in solving my dilemma???

I not sure which fan your talking about but the alternator fan and aux water pump are controlled by a multi function thermo switch mounted in the rad. Hopefully someone else can confirm this.

nah thats cool mate i thought it would be the sensor in the rad not switching off making the fans stay on but then read up on v6calibra.net and found three sensors and some relays just wondered if anyone had the same issues and how they sorted it???

What are you gonna do?? test the sensor on the radiator?? I suppose the only way of testing it is to use a multimeter(not that id know what i was looking at) or just un plug it and see if the fans switch off?? I was reading about the relay k36 or something controlling them could it be that or just a case of trial and error by trying each?? I hope its not the sensor on the rad because my local vauxhall doesnt have one!!

After i put the 3.2 in mine this happen as well, it was the alternator dio that had blown, i had the alternator reconditioned before we put it in but i blow with in the first week took it back and the guy fixed it no probs with the fan since , check and see if it is still charging and if the battery light is coming on
