Under-bonnet fuse box (and an alarm question)
I want to fit my amp cable properly through the grommet, but I've got alarm siren, alarm bonnet sensor and fuse box all in the way.
Alarm siren looks simple enough- one bolt. But when I unplugged it, f*****g thing started blaring and deafened me senseless - will d/cing battery stop it, or does the alarm system have its own battery?
Bonnet sensor will need to have a closer look at
Fuse box... I see one bolt and a clip - is that all? Easy to remove?

Far easier to poke the cable through from inside the car.

There's always one
Sodit, go on then, as it's Friday afternoon and it's warm and dry for a change.

Can't see what the problem is, done that job 3/4 times on callys with stuff in the way and always managed to poke the cable through.

I've put my 60 amp fuse inside the relay/fuse box.
Although admittedly not all boxes have this much space in them.
Easy and hidden.

I looked into that - my fusebox is rammed, and fuse holder is too big lol.

I managed to get the same cable through by taping a length of it to a straightened coat hanger.
Then I just forced the coat hanger through the rubber grommet and pulled it though from inside the car under the glove box.
It can be done without removing anything.
I had to be a bit forceful but it went through ok

Managed in the end, but it was a f*****g pain. Grommet's gone solid, so tried to make a hole from the inside with a screwdriver - lost count of how many times I set the b****** alarm siren off, but managed to get the cable through eventually.

Not sure if it was shorting or it's just highly strung (!).
I tried just unplugging it, but that set it off too.

A bit late in the day but I believe the alarm system or more in particular the siren has it's own battery built in. It stops people getting into the car opening the bonnet and cutting the wire to the siren to stop it sounding
