crap mate i know how you feel.
the local holden here bent 20 valves in mine, 4 the first time, then wen they 'fixed' that they bent all 16. like wtf.

hope you get it sorted and running again soon mate

just wondering if this has got near completion yet steve? i think you got bored of us coming round and doing nothing lol we just wanna see it drive.

Progress..... its too DAM cold for progress.

Plan is starting to take shape though. Engines looking a bit bear at the moment.....

Pistons have now been sent off for a bit of work and when there back I can start the rebuild. Some gorgeous carbon wrap turned up to keep my manifold warm over the winter ...

Been having a look at the oil sandwich plate tonight. Changed the oe one for a mocal and decided its probably a bad idea, clashes with the drive shaft and with a few more heavy knocks would of lost all the oil. You can see the damage hear...

Quite a bit different compared to the oe one which will be going back on tomorrow....

yes yes, ive done diddly squat over chrimbo due to work and its also been uber cold to think about it :mrgreen:


Pistons are back from having larger pockets machined......

Started to wrap the exhaust manifold with the volcanic ash. Just waiting for some more to turn up as they cocked up the order.

Bodge , i hope you have cheaked it all this time as mine was still not right , thats why i had to take more of mine..

I got mine back like this.

Cheers Ian, im still confident it will be running for Coombe although I doubt it will be mapped by then. I havent taken anything off the top of the pistons but have double and triple checked volumns and am happy with the compression ratio bearing in mind I am running a different gasket to yours. Planning a plasticine build when I time it up so I will check piston to valve clearences then but im confident it should be ok.



Too late now though, I can no longer see the garage floor through the block :mrgreen:
