HID advice
i was thinking of getting a hid set up for the cally and to be honest i have little to no idea on any good makes (at a resonable price) i was thinking around the £70 mark for a kit. also what power is best about 6k or 8k bulb?
also is there any set back to having a hid set up? eg melting wires or headlamps?

Re: HID advice
As said 6k is the best option, and HID's draw less current than bulbs.
Any set over £50 will be a decent set.

4300k is the whitest, and the most OE looking.
I've had no trouble with mine at all, been in over 2 years (I think)....always passes MOT's too.

Re: HID advice
Go for it, easy to fit and easily the best mod to do. go for 6k bulb. Mine cost about £45 on ebay
Nothing succeeds like a budgie with nae teeth

Re: HID advice
a little tip for fitting btw, dont be too concerned on how you'll connect the black hid wire to the calibras brown wire prong
theres an easier way to fit them than in the guides even
red goes into the bulb connector, and instead of connecting the black wire directy to the terminal via a bullt connector or similar, just bend the terminal on the black hid wire into a crescent shape and wedge it securely in between the bown wires connector and the headlamp unit itself.
it will take 5 minutes per side, 4 of which will be spent trying to get the bulb through the hole in the headlight
advantadges of doing it this way? sheer lazyness and if you want to remove them for the mot etc, it will take all of 30 seconds to take out again.
mine has been running like this perfectly for 6 months now

Re: HID advice
I brought a similar set of slimline HIDs from ebay which work really well!
I got them in 8000K though mainly because there the same colour blue as my car

My view in the dark has gone up around 200% soo happy with them!
(this is a colour chart example for different temperatures of HIDs)
