Finally got the head off .
Re: Finally got the head off .
Here some more pictures of the head work that i have been doing. As previously said about the patio slab, the head was only placed there for these pictures
And here are the pictures i took on the dreaded patio slab lol

Heres another picture for you, a front caliper assembly on an artic unit up against a pair of wire cutters

Re: Finally got the head off .
Hi guys and girls. Its been awhile since ive posted anything properly. Ive been busy the last couple of weeks and only resently had the time to rebuild the heads and sand the ports all down so there now nice and smooth
Heres some pictures of the progress.
A picture of one of the heads all skimmed and ready to go. I thought afterwards maybe i should of got the heads skimmed after i rebuilt them lol. Luckly i never marked any of them

One of the ports before i sanded it all down by hand

After i sanded it down, i worked from 80 grit paper down to 800 grit wet and dry. It looks very dull but its quite smooth
I also done a before and after shot with the exhaust valves lol

Mid-way through lapping the valves in. I left the valves free so i new which valve goes where. I then took the valves back out and washed the cutting paste off. After i dried them off i rebuilt them.

The ports in the bottom intake sandwitch plate and the centre section also got a good rub down

As you can see some of the casting is quite difficult to remove, but even with the marks visible the ports are 90% smooth
