The SE8 and values

by CalSE8 » Thu Nov 25, 2010 12:57 pm

Hi, Been looking at buying an SE8 as a cheap runaround. A long time ago I used to have a mint SE2.

How are the SE8's viewed? In comparison to my old SE2 its seems a bit low spec - cloth interior, no sunroof although you get aircon.
The one i've seen has done 120,000 miles, no tax, and the paintwork is tired with scratches and scuffs on a few panels. I'm thinking it may not be worth bothering with but then if its cheap enough!!! What's the going rate for them nowadays??

Thanks for the replies. This one is £400 so fairly cheap then.

Are the SE8's desirable - or seen as the poor relation?

seems fair, and they are more desirable mainly due to been a later model (97) and of course galvanised
