What power v6
What power can you squeeze from a n/a 2.5 v6 with all the common mods say including stainless headers and sports cat?

Re: What power v6
to get 200 bhp from a 2.5L will cost the headers are £700 alone, if you want to go down the v6 road and not the turbo road, it might be best to start with a 3.0L or 3.2L then add the other bits but if its just lots of power go down the turbo road youll get more bhp for your money

Up to about 230 -240bhp with well chosen performance manifolds and downpipes, headwork & cams. Providing the inlet & headwork is done by someone who knows what they're doing.
After that it becomes expensive because :
a. You'll need throttle bodies. The Jenvey kit is about £1500
b. You'll need aftermarket management. Say £700 + same again mapping
c. You'll need to upgrade engine components due to the higher rpm. Think big valves, rods, rod bolts & steel crank at the least..
d. There are very few engine builders with a track record of reliably tuning these engines. As I couldn't justify the costs of Swindon Motorsport, the only person in the UK I would consider using to source parts or build such a beast would be 'SteveBoySlim'.
Note, I can say from direct knowledge that a Calibra 270bhp NA V6 ( wild race cams, flat top pistons, worked inlets/ exhausts etc) will get floored in a straight line by a properly sorted Calibra Turbo with a mere Phase 2 type setup. Will sound good though

230/240 seems a bit on the high side what cam work would you be talking about to get these figures

For 230/240 I would stay with the MSD/i500 setup or perhaps 264deg profiles from DSOP or Enem Z7/ Z27 cams with verniers for fine tuning, indeed will probably use them on a 250bhp NA TB'ed V6 I have in the project pipeline seeing as it will only be a temporary-ish engine. It's the quality of the inlet & headwork, coupled with appropriate full exh system that makes the difference...
The 270bhp engine I mentioned previously uses the Calibra style inlet not TBs; i.e. the power was achieved by headwork, cams & inlet//exhaust flow. Unfortunately it's spec sheet is at home although I believe the cams are 274deg with solid lifters. I can find out pretty quick, time difference allowing, if you want to know more.

I thought you had a 300+ bhp supercharged V6 project.
Or am I getting my Calibra forum Baz's mixed up?

Re: What power v6
nah not me mate , i was happy with my standard v6 which kicked out 188bhp on the first run when we rolling roaded it and the fifth test it got 180.2 from the flywheel and that was after the oil cooler went and also the crankshaft sensor...
like people have said to get the 270bhp thats a lot of money being spent on the car and you certainly know your stuff gary .
