anybody had any probs with there v6's in the snow

For all general things Calibra related

anybody had any probs with there v6's in the snow

by BazV6er » Sat Dec 18, 2010 11:24 am

Me and tina just attempted to go into the local town ,we left from the new housing estate and down on the nearest b road got on it and started to drive a few hundred yards and the v6 hated it , why is it that my 16v was so much better in the snow.

So theres the grocery shopping halted till maybe tomorrow .

Your right foot is to heavy, and if you had an auto your would have snow mode not that I have driven the cally in the snow. My learner has just driven fine in the snow but she is very very smooth with the brake, streeing and clutch...........................Most be the Instructor :D
Mark...........It's Red........It's a V6............It's an SE9!..............and She's bad.

Baz have you got the Traction switch on the correct setting now? i.e. Light off?
The power of the engine should have no difference in the snow, if anythig it should be better as it's heavier.
The throttle is a valve, not a switch.
Always pull away without the use of the throttle pedal (if on a flat) there is plenty of torque to get the car moving, just lift the clutch slowly.

as has already been said you must have a heavy foot Baz, i'll tell you what try driving it with the traction control off (i.e light on) and then tell me how it is.
thats what i'm doing as my traction control doesnt work at all and i've been driving in the snow with no problems

ok guys as the topic of traction control has been resolved ,so this time i will turn traction control off and then see how it feels then but bare in mind this morning on the b road was it wasnt gritted nor snowploughed and the tc was left on.

as for the hill that takes me up to our home i had the gear in 2nd and got up there and tried to be too heavy footed

and maybe it could be the linglongs not gripping enough
