The attached image show the look of Vauxhall's new four-seater convertible, which bosses have just green lit for production.

Vauxhall's CEO Nick Reilly told Auto Express at the Geneva Motor Show: "A number of models were put on hold as a result of the recession ? the Astra GTC three-door coup was delayed, for instance. But we will build a new convertible that will provide a 'halo' effect for the range."
He continued: "It is two years away from launch, and will be a separate model. It will share some Astra components, but it will not be called Astra - in fact, we may use a name from our past. It will sit above the GTC." Asked about the name, Reilly said: "Calibra is possible, as well as Manta."
But what should Vauxhall's new canvas-topped cabrio be called? Vote in the poll on the top right of the page (Link below).
Calibra.
If you were in the market for a good-looking but affordable coupe in the late Eighties and Nineties, chances are the Calibra was near the top of your list. The sleek three-door had a huge fan base, and 250,000 were sold around the world, badged as Opels, Vauxhalls, Chevrolets and Holdens, before it was axed in 1997 - eight years after launch.
Manta.
When the first-generation Manta appeared in 1970, it was the Ford Capri's worst nightmare. With its simple flowing design and rear-wheel-drive layout, it was an instant hit. At the 1975 launch of the second-generation car, two versions were available - the sporty Opel Manta or the more sedately styled Vauxhall Cavalier.
Getting the name back would do us no harm at all.

But the name would/could pump new life into this site Rob.
And thinking about it, an Opel or vauxhall Calibra sounds right (as we all know) But Vauxhall Manta? Manta will always be an Opel

Sorry but i can't see owners of that thing above coming here if it was called a Calibra, somebody somewhere will form a new car forum/site and that's where all the new owners will go. If its called a Calibra then only the name will be the only connection.

I agree, any association with a new model certainly won't hurt us
and now might be a good time to buy up all the calibra related domain names
