LCD Dash fitment

by jonthevauxhallman » Mon Apr 04, 2011 8:38 pm

Hello everyone

I am trying to make contact with anyone who has fitted a Cavalier MK3 digital dash to a Calibra before. ( NOT Astra GTE)

I have most of it wired up and running, but my vehicle does not have check control, so I need to find a way to delete these.

Also I need to reset my mileage as it is different to what the dash is showing, any idea's ( been advised it needs a special cartridge in Tech1 ) if anyone is local to Bedford who can help please feel free to contact me.

Regards
John

you cant get the mileage reset as no one has the correct Eprom for the data (or something like that) and we have tried a few places that do mileage correction, Tech1 wont do it as far as we know

can you not just leave the check control unwired, then it wont light up. or are you trying to get them to light up and then go out like they should??

Hi Fraz

In the paperwork that came with the dash it says " the digital dash will require reprogramming using Tech 1with the following details
Speedo Pulses
Tyre size/Gearbox
Recorded Mileage
Units - Km only or KM/Miles selectable via front switches
Engine Type

ref the check controls lights, these are illuminated as soon as the ignition is switched on, and only the oil level, screen wash and coolant level are relevant.

yes the chip in the back of the dash needs to have the correct programme on it for your car. You need a Tech1 to change the chip to suit MPH and Gallons...I gather it is only reading in KPH and Litres at the moment? and you cant change it when you hold the right side button on the dash??

I dont have a tech1 so cant really be sure if you can do the milage ...I know we have had chips reprogrammed to teh correct one for UK cars, but they never tried to alter the milage ...get me Tech1 and I will give it a shot :D

check control....what car are you fitting them into as only the 8V never had check control

give me a call ...be easier :D
