im thinking of takin the cally off the road end of this month due to a few reasons
1. it wont stop getting engine problems
2. insurance is due for remewal
3. mot is due
4. it would give me time to remove the engine and box for rebuild
5. clean up all engine bay
6. get everything stipped out and sent for respray and bodywork repaired

but this means missing all shows with it for at least this year as the only thing that is holding me back from having all the work done is my crap wage!

Mine was off the road for 18 months for various reasons, It's rubbish at the time but you end up with a better car in the end! Only you can decide.
