Also, if we are right about DB153 being the LE, 48 is the maximum that have been on the road in any one year and 26 of the 34 left in 2007 are still here.

Cavalier Turbo at end of 2010, 109 taxed plus 139 SORNed. Back in 1997 there were 762 and numbers became roughly stable in 2008.

Calibra Turbo (all types inc DTM and LE) 188 taxed and 202 SORNed. Back in 1997 there were 1941 with numbers still falling now.

At this rate the Calibra Turbo will be rarer than a Cavalier Turbo, even though possibly 3 times as many were sold, within the next couple of years.

Reason being is no doubt the calibra is more easily found to be used for its engine in conversions in to other cars, then the shell is just crushed, the cavalier turbo missed that as by that time they had become quite rare, the calibra was in abundance

That's right. But the Calibra is now moving into that same category, rarer cars. If the laws of supply and demand work, prices will start to harden and move from 'break up value' towards Cavalier Turbo prices.

This, together with a growing higher proportion of dedicated owners, should mean fewer get stripped and crushed as more people want to hold onto them.
